Kathy has been married to Floyd Stone for 38 years.  They have lived in LaGrange for 28 years, and have one son, James, who is married and living in Houston, Texas.  Kathy has been an educator for 29 years, and is the Director of Gifted Education for LaGrange School District 105.  She has a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Loyola University Chicago.  Kathy's dissertation was an extensive transnational research project, and she continues to present at national and international conferences, speaking on the topics of Gifted Education, Cultural Diversity, and Comparative and International Education.  She has developed an organization called I.N.S.T.E.A.D. International (International Network Supporting Transnational Exchange and Diversity).  Kathy is also a poet, and is publishing a book of poetry about the Matterhorn in Zermatt, Switzerland.  The book is dedicated to peace and harmony.  Kathy and Floyd are world travelers and Floyd is a global director of supply chain management.  Kathy and Floyd travel to Zermatt every summer, as she has a passion for the Matterhorn, which has led to her publishing the book.  Kathy is also working on another book of inspirational poetry related to the ocean.  For over 20 years, she has had her place of personal retreat by the ocean in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
