POOR RICHARD'S ALMUNAC - BELATED

HAPPY HOLIDAYS - 2011/12

We trust, this Dreaded Christmas Letter (DCL) finds all healthy, wealthy and wise - or at least healthy & wise  We have converted numerical years to scores(S) and already feel younger.

KRISTIN - 1S&9 - continues with her Sprint employment turning down 3 other job offers.  Kristin will be seeking Adj. Professor Opportunities in Summer & Fall semester teaching Federal Tax. - Business.    Kristin actually enjoys working at Sprint, teaching and accepting challenges.   I surmise, she will be fully experienced/proficient about 2 weeks prior to the U.S. adopting a flat/fair tax.  Kristin moved in with us, a method of "saving for her next house.  We enjoy her presence.  Kristin is best described as an accounting professional, warm, success/perfection driven, social oriented, personality positive, mature woman (still my little girl), focused to accomplish, always busy & tired, fashionably late with a warm infectious smile, we love her

LuCa --- the spoiled cat moved in with us with Kristin, most capable of intimidating everyone with his, "hissing" with an occasional protectionism biting.

ASHLEE - 1S&7 - Ash earned a 3.9 GPA in nursing school - Rockhurst University; is also a graduate of Kansas State University, a job offer was presented and accepted.  Step down ICU position at Research Medical Center employment.  Ashlee married Mr. Christopher Williams on Sept.21, 2011(details will follow) Chris is V.P. of new business development @ Briarcliff/North Point, earned his degree in Construction Engineering from Kansas State.  The Williams reside in Kansas City by MCI- Kansas City International Airport.  Ash is best described as a good woman, socially oriented, stubborn, employed, warm, very sensitive, a social butterfly, compromise challenged, working, with a strong desire to please/accomplish seeks social acceptance - has a job, beams with a  broad friendly smile & positive mental attitude, we love her.  Chris, we are keeping a close eye on him, he seems to thrive on marriage, is good guy.  I do not know if anyone is quite "good enough" for our little girl.

Ms. Laney - their German Short Hair is all legs with a great but undeveloped "nose for hunting."

ALICE - 3S&_ - retired from SMSD Special Education on 8/31/12 after 31 years of service.  Teaching Sp. Ed. Might be on the horizon as she may finally utilize her Masters +60 education effectively teaching.  Retirement spare time is consumed watching soap operas, drinking fine French wines, dipping & consuming chocolate covered Bon-Bons (UN - HUH).  Health, excluding an aching & painful knee - is fine.  Knee replacement might occur in Q1-13.  Alice is best described as kind, draws her strength from Kristin & Ashlee, her unconditional dedication & love, providing guidance coupled with a power of "perpetual suggestions" - allows her to keep Rich organizationally confused.

RICH - 3S&_ - retired from Johnson Controls, Continental Can and Rexam. "Retired" from U.S. Army effective 7/1/10, we were most fortunate to have worked for fortune 500 type companies with funded retirement plans.  Henceforth, Rich continues as Instructor at JCCC (Johnson County Community College), addition instructional hours may be available in 2013, selling secondary packaging business continues, he is a C.N.A. (Certified Nematode Auditor).   Certified - 6Sigma Black Belt W/Lean Manufacturing completed in 2012, MBB (Master Black Belt may be sought in 2013)...  Rich continues to enjoy his Syngraphist activity (this is probably less exciting than it sounds) and is now a hobby turned business - LCC with tangential coin w/gold & silver activity attached to a refiner's license.  This business is growing with great gross and net margins.   Overall, market investments were rewarding in 2012.  Farm yields 151 bu./ac of corn and 61 bu./ac of beans - better management is required, retirement project?  S.I.U. - FB was mediocre at best, disappointing BB in 2011/12, 2012 started on positive note -MVC pick SIU 11 in a 10 team MVC field.   Occasional ½ mile run/jog/walk 4 days a week is being accomplished.  Rich is best described as getting old, impatient, minor aches daily, stupidity intolerant, opinionated, moody, CRS, and just plain grouchy.

We are most fortunate, Kristin, Ashlee and Chris prefer to spend almost every possible spare moment with their parents in a bonding mode (yea right again).  Being semi-empty nesters, silence is sometime deafening (no Lady GAGA).   Seldom to never are voices above a whisper - NOT.  Rich misplaces the TV remote daily, cannot program any of our DVD/DVR's players/burners, and misplaces reading glasses daily with 4 pair missing on any given day.  We totally understand requirements of treating Kristin & Ashlee nice as they will control the selection of our, "old people" living accommodations, optotoxical prevails.  They discuss cheap & Western Kansas (Colby, KS.) in the same sentence.  Kids still invoke the 5th amendment regarding privacy, naughty and nice.  Currently, we have 26 bottles of 1st growth French Bordeaux's in our cellar (basement) - 1855/1973 classifications (1966 to 1985 years), no one was arrested, we are not being sued - life is good.

2013 Stock Tip - research companies specializing in correcting, getting old, impatient, daily minor aches, stupidity intolerant, opinionated, moody, CRS and just plain grouchy.

Everything normal - come see we - relatives, friends, S.I.U alumni and Army buddies require 3 months notice with signed acceptance of T&C's meeting U.C.C. legal parameters.  We are thankful for our overall health.  Suggest, support for our troops (if not our policy) and reaffirm a pursuit of world peace as we coexist in harmony with our fellow man and fragile environment.

ROG12911@AOL.COM - send your e-mail address, last year for snail mail!

PAST "DREADED LETTERS"

POOR RICHARD'S ALMUNAC - BELATED

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

We trust, the dreaded Christmas letter finds all healthy, wealthy and wise - or at least healthy.

KRISTIN - 25 works for Price-Waterhouse as a Tax - M&A & Hedge fund, specialist.  Kristin actually enjoys working, accepting challenges, educating after being educated, overall professional culture is positive and was recently promoted.   One of her most enjoyable activities at P.W.C. is recruiting accountants from K.S.U and U.M.K.C. (multiple employees were her students).  Kristin, the proud Mother to LuCa Pacioli (father of scientific accounting), the spoiled cat is now 3 years old with an investigatory personality. Most recently, Kristin has been discussing with P.W.C. a 2-year opportunity at P.W.C.'s corporate offices in New York, she is considering.  I suspect, she will eventually return to teaching.   Kristin is best described as an accounting professional, warm, success driven, social oriented, personality positive, mature woman (still my little girl), focused to accomplish, always busy & tired with a warm infectious smile.

ASHLEE - 23 graduated from Kansas State University in May with a degree in Psychology.   Shopping and socialization were undeclared minors.  Ash earned and presented her fifth straight 4.0.  Tumor detected on her right ear has shrunk, purely a function of a new and smaller camera cell phone and unlimited texting.  New phone records - 1,511 text messages plus 1,893 phone (gossip) minutes with 724 total calls (1 to Russia) - now that is communicating.  We now understand why Ash is, "to busy" to look for a job. Ash's explanation Michael Beasley (KSU -BB player) is earning $12mm. she has virtually no income) thus, average is $6mm --- sounds logical to me.  Her strengths continue to be her ability to get up early on weekends, clean her room, pick up after herself, attend early church service and keep her car clean (YEA RIGHT).  Ash is enrolled in Rockhurst University's "medical school" (I call it Nursing School) honor's program, objective --- becoming Pediatric Nurse Psychologist.  Chris Williams has become, "perpetually around" is a Construction Manager @ Briarcliff with his own start up business.  Ash is best described as a good woman, social oriented, warm, very sensitive, a social butterfly, stubborn, with a strong desire to please, accomplish and be socially accepted with a broad friendly smile.

ALICE - __ continues as a Special Education teacher with some curriculum development responsibilities.  Easier year starting fall semester as student turnover presented a more favored classroom environment however; burnout is maturing - the "R" word is more frequently mentioned.  Alice donates an extraordinary amount of time with school activities - unpaid O.T. with her MOM duties being her #1 accomplishment and priority - sometimes appearing to be directing a directionless five-ring circus.  Spare time is consumed watching soap operas, drinking fine French wines, making & consuming chocolate covered Bon-Bons (YEA - HUH).  Health, other than an aching knee - is fine, pain has diminished with arthroscopic surgery.  Knee replacement in 3/8 years will be required.  Falling out of a school bus with broken bone(s) just above her tail bone requires steroid shots has not enhanced her aging process.  Alice is best described as kind, draws her strength from Kristin & Ashlee, her unconditional dedication, loving providing guidance coupled with a power of loud suggestion - allows her to keep Rich on the straight & narrow.

RICH -__ remains in the secondary packaging business,  is a C.N.A. (Certified Nematode Auditor) in addition, to being a part time Instructor at Johnson County Community College.  He continues to enjoy his Syngraphist activity (this is probably less exciting than it sounds) and is now a guest lecturer to multiple numismatic gatherings.  Fine French wine collection, we consumed two bottles of Chateau Margaux - 1970 vintage on Kristin's 25th and Ashlee's 23rd birthday --- SUPURB.  Specializing in 1855/1973 classifications of Bordeaux first growths is his specialty.  S.I.U. - wait to next year however; SIU defeated NIU in BB winning, "Illinois Collegiate Civil War.'  Gold and silver markets were especially financially rewarding in 2008.  Rich is best described as getting old, impatient, stupidity intolerant, opinionated and grouchy.

We are fortunate, Kristin & Ashlee prefer to spend almost every possible moment with their parents in a bonding mode listening to hit tunes of the 70's as opposed to joy riding, loud music and participating in the bar scene (yea right again).  Drug of choice in our house is a triple strength placebo as we move into 2009 in ever changing stages of life.  Being semi -empty nesters, silence is sometime deafening.  Ashlee returned to paradise and now resides with her parents.  We totally understand requirements of treating Kristin & Ashlee nice as they will control selection of our, "old people" living accommodations.  They discuss cheap & Western Kansas in the same sentence.  Kids still invoke the 5th amendment regarding naught and nice.  This year, we have 37 bottles of 1st growth French Bordeaux in the basement (1966 to 1985), no one was arrested, we are not being sued - life is good.

Fortunately, we have plenty of money, no mortgages, all five cars paid off, have excess leisure and vacation time and continue to provide unsolicited advise to our President, Senators and Governors (Illinois) on a routine basis.  Seldom to never are voices above a whisper.  Rich loses the TV remote daily, cannot program any of our DVD players/burners, instructions required with each use. Everything normal - come see us in 2009.  We are thankful for our health, support our troops (if not our policy) and reaffirm a pursuit of world peace as we coexist in harmony with our fellow man and fragile environment.
