Some news from Pat Butkus Barnett......

.My daughter Sara and I took a 3000 mile road trip this summer. Our final destination was to visit friends in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Cheyenne has that "cowboy" theme mixed with turn-of-the-century buildings plus a lovely botanical park. We even visited a bison ranch. Along our route we stayed in 3 national parks (Arches in Utah, Mesa Verde in Colorado, and the Grand Canyon in Arizona). Sara's highlight was making the hike to the famous "Rainbow Arch." That was too strenuous for me in the heat. But my favorite place has always been the cliff dwellings in M.W. That place is beautiful and serene - unlike the Grand Canyon which is just "buys" (at least on the South Rim!)

After 15 years teaching First Grade, I moved up to Second Grade for my next 15! Believe it or not, there is a big difference in the two curriculums as well as the levels of the students. I have an absolutely delightful class with no behavior problems (-which makes me worry about all forthcoming classes!).

Have a wonderful holiday season with your family and friends.

Always a Bengal Tiger,
